GSBA "Chair - Membership Drive" Candidate Profile : Shyama Prasad Mondal
I am Shyama Prasad Mondal, originally from Burdwan, West Bengal, India and currently residing in San Diego, California for last couple of years with my wife Rumela and 4 years old son Raunak.
I have completed B.E. in 1997 from Jadavpur University, Calcutta in Comp Sc & Engg and M.Tech in 1999 from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. After completing my master’s degree, I have worked in Motorola Inc with reputation for 11 years, specializing in mobile communication domain. During my stay in Motorola, I interacted with people from different parts of the world and built up a strong social network. I learnt about different cultures and languages which enriched my vision and experience. In March 2010, I joined Qualcomm Inc San Diego and working there till date.
After relocating to San Diego, I got the opportunity of becoming members of two great Bengali organizations – GSBA and Saikat. As a proud Bengali, I want to be in touch with Bengali culture and would like our next generations to be part of the same. I have great respect for Bangladesh for the immense love and attachment the people show for the country and language. I and my family had great time attending all of the GSBA events starting from Poila Baishakh, Eid to Bijoy Dibosh.
GSBA is doing awesome work bringing all Bengali people together and creating a warm, friendly social circle. By using my strong social network, I will be able to contribute to this organization by bringing more respectful members who can add values in all aspects.
