GSBA "Chair-Finance" Candidate Profile : Asif Zaman
I am Asif Zaman and currently working in my Accounting, Tax and Financial Service practice in San Diego. I am MBA graduate of National University. I have worked extensively with small to medium sized businesses. Before being self-employed I worked in banking, manufacturing, program management, and engineering arena. I have been teaching Federal and State Tax courses for last 3 years for individuals who want to be registered with CRTP (California Registered Tax Preparer) as a tax preparer and practice taxes as a profession. I am also affiliated with a renowned tax firm in San Diego as a business developer and consultant.
My greatest professional achievement is the rapport I have established and maintained with my business clients. They depend on me and I thrive on exceeding their expectations. I enjoy working with people and clients, putting an emphasis on creating sound accounting, bookkeeping system, preparation of financial statement, income tax planning & preparation, and business consultation.
I enjoy and have been involved in various community and cultural activities where I reside. I also enjoy and try to participate in all voluntary and fund raising activities for MCC Mosque.
I enjoy outdoor activities, friend’s company, meeting people, good book, movies, music, good conversation, food and being with my family -wife Farhana, son Ayaan and daughter Saira.
I am an active member of GSBA since the beginning, and truly believe proper vision; strong leadership can bring a great sea success in our community through this organization. A new seed has been planted and its survival only depends on hard work, strong determination, and proper nourishment.
My background allows me to become a proper candidate (Chair – Finance) for the upcoming GSBA general election. To the best of my ability in the past I made myself available to GSBA’s all cultural and other community activities with one goal in mind which is success. If I am elected I will do more with newer responsibility and work closer and together.
